As part of the Illinois Bicentennial celebration, Illinois Humanities will kick off its year-long "The Country and the City: Common Ground in the Prairie State?" series on Tuesday at Free Press Coffee House in Pittsfield. The program will include text-based panel discussions and audience participation on issues affecting both rural and urban Illinois communities, according to Matt Meacham, program manager for statewide engagement for Illinois Humanities. Tuesday's discussion will include six panelists - three from rural communities and three from urban communities - who will discuss cultural sustainability and the pursuit of community. [Read More]
