One of the four doping cases at the Pyeongchang Olympics has been closed in an agreement between bobsled's governing body and Russian driver Nadezhda Sergeeva. The Court of Arbitration for Sport says it accepted a settlement which ended the case with an eight-month ban for Sergeeva. It expires on Oct. 22. A Gastonia man who joined the sex offender registry after he sexually assaulted a child was arrested Wednesday after allegedly visiting a Gaston County middle school.Jesse Alex Yelton was at Southwest Middle School on Friday, sheriff's deputies say. With the effects of Hurricane Michael likely to sweep across the Carolinas, Gaston County Schools announced there will be no school Thursday.The closure extends to all activities, including parent conferences and sports, the school system announced.The storm made landfall in Florida on Wednesday with winds exceeding 150 mph.
