Hurricane Michael battered Florida as the strongest storm ever recorded in the region on Thursday. The category-4 hurricane with 155 mph winds left two dead and washed away entire buildings. Michael was downgraded to a tropical storm early on Thursday morning as it churned across central Georgia with maximum sustained winds of about 60 mph.
