Police say a bouncer was shot and killed outside a bar in Ohio. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says Robert Lamont Woods was escorting patrons to their cars outside O'Toole's Irish Pub and Grill in Columbus around 3 a.m. Saturday when a vehicle pulled up and the occupants opened fire. Woods was struck and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have described the suspects as being in their early to mid-20s. A search for them is ongoing. [Read More]
Police have arrested a man who they say fired multiple shots as people were leaving a fireworks display in Connecticut. Hartford police say they arrested the 19-year-old Windsor man Saturday and charged him with unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment and breach of peace among other offenses. Authorities say the man fired a handgun from the upper level of a plaza in Hartford as people were leaving a fireworks display. The gunfire caused damage to a window and building, as well as a concrete planter. No injuries were reported. [Read More]

Mobile Police are investigating a shooting on the 1500 block of West Avenue. That's off of Virginia St. and Tuttle Ave, about a block from Ladd-Peebles Stadium. A policeman near Boston was fatally shot with his own service weapon Sunday morning by a man who used the same gun to kill a female bystander in her home, authorities said. Weymouth Officer Michael Chesna, 42, responded to an "erratic driver" call about 7:30 a.m., police said. He found a car crashed and a man vandalizing a home.
