The City Commission of the City of Sweetwater met in regular session on Tuesday September 18, at 10:30 a.m. in the City Commission Room of the City Hall, 200 E. 4th Street, Sweetwater Jim Lee led the invocation. OK, it's true that the end result Thursday showed a 51-7 loss to Wichita Falls Hirschi. That, of course, is not a good thing. The Nolan County Commissioner's Court held their regular meeting in the County Courthouse, Sweetwater. As the result of a week of rain and cooler weather, the burn ban was not reinstated and has been lifted. The minutes for August 23 and 27 were approved without change. After a rather dominant first-game win on Tuesday, Sweetwater had to rally to defeat Wall in four games in the teams' exciting non-district volleyball match at Mustang Gym. Alex Gallegos (No. 25) is the Sweetwater Mustang Player of the Week. The senior, who is a two-way starter at running back and linebacker, made big contributions at both for the team in Friday's 33-7 loss to Big Spring. On Tuesday, September 11, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. (CST), employees from more than 15 USG plants throughout the country, along with staff in the Chicago Corporate Office, walked in remembrance of 9/11.
