The body of a Utah firefighter who died battling a California blaze has returned to his home state and to his family. The remains of Draper Battalion Chief Matthew Burchett were flown to the Utah Air National Guard base in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night, before a procession carried him to Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary in South Jordan. Burchett, 42, was injured Monday after a tree fell on him while he was fighting the massive Mendocino Complex Fire in Northern California. He later died at Ukiah Valley Medical Center. [Read More]
