After the 2016 Tax Day Floods, the Houston Chronicle quoted me as saying, "Our elected officials need to come together committed to mobilizing our governmental agencies on all levels to adopt policies and actions to identify and address all aspects of our flooding infrastructure now in the same way and with a similar degree of funding as devoted to the Sandy storm on the East Coast, Katrina in New Orleans and others." Practical skills, such as how to write a resume and how to properly use a credit card, are day-to-day necessities in adult life that students leave high school with little to no knowledge of.
